Join the YMCA Bears Swim Team this summer!!!

The YMCA Bears Swim Team is a member of the Greensboro Community Swimming Association. The Community Swim Association (CSA) is a non-profit organization comprised of 23 local swim clubs and more than 2,000 swimmers from ages 5 to 18 in the Greensboro, NC metropolitan area.

The Bears Swim Team provides a unique opportunity for children ages 5-18 to train and compete as a member of a team built around the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Whether your child is new to competitive swimming or a seasoned year-round swimmer, the Bears will provide a challenging and rewarding experience for all its members. The Bears are preparing to start our 6th season in the CSA. In our short history, we have established a tradition of fellowship, sportsmanship and achievement. Come be part of that tradition as the Bears brace to embark on another summer of fun and excitement!

2009 Season Details

The YMCA Bears Summer Swim Team is open to all swimmers in the community ages 5-18. If you are uncertain of your child’s swimming ability, feel free to drop in for an evaluation with one of our coaches / aquatics staff. While we always adopt a philosophy of ‘everyone swims, everyone wins’ parents and swimmers should understand that the Bears is a competitive swim team, and participation at swim meets will be encouraged.

2009 YMCA Bears Coaches

The Bears are happy to announce that Karmen Quakenbush will be returning as the 2009 head coach. Sarah Williams is returning as the assistant coach.
